Crawford Symphony XVI in C# Minor "Funeral"
For Full Orchestra
Crawford's second choral symphony featuring every dark type of classical piece including Dies Irae and a Funeral March.
Description
Crawford’s Sixteenth Symphony is a piece full of features. It features all kinds of emotional forms of classical music including ‘Dies Irae’, ‘Funeral March’ and more. This symphony also features Crawford’s “Heartbroken Melody” in the finale. The finale of this piece has a personal meaning to Crawford since this was his first symphony after one of his most heartbreaking moments in his life. At the time, all he wanted to do was just die, but of course he never could do what it took to do so. In place, he wrote a symphony of what he dreamt of in those days.
This symphony has beautiful Oboe, Flute, Cello, Viola, Trombone, trumpet, Bass trombone, Violin, English horn, Piccolo, and Chorus excerpts.
Fun Fact: This symphony was finished before Symphony No. 15 was born.
