Crawford Symphony V in B Minor
For Full Orchestra
A symphony with a mysterious theme for exploring the abandoned territories
Description
Crawford wrote this symphony after watching a horror movie. After writing down the first two movements, he learned about the Harpsichord so he decided to add the instrument to the third symphony. He likes to nickname this symphony his “Mysterious Symphony” for how mysterious it sounds. The finale is like a combination of every movement to summarize or ‘finalize’ the symphony. This symphony is considered one of his favorite works he’s made.
This Symphony has fantastic Violin, Low Strings, Flute, Piccolo, Oboe, Bassoon, and Harpsichord excerpts.
Fun Facts: After he wrote this symphony, he listened to Tchaikovsky for the first time after he wrote this symphony and had extraordinary results on his later works.
