Crawford Violin Concerto No.3 in D Minor "The Despair Violin Concerto"

This concerto was intended to be a concerto, but in the end, it's considered a Concertante, not a concerto. This has no cadenza nor more than 1 movement. Crawford wanted to make the violin sob and weep after he lost a close friend over the summer. He made sure this Concertante let out every emotion he felt as he lost more control.

This Concertante has expressive Violin, Viola, Bassoon, French Horn, Low Strings, Piccolo, Trumpet, Low brass, Clarinet, Oboe, English horn, and even timpani excerpts.
